Upper West Side

Upper West is one of New York City's most popular neighborhoods in Manhattan. This neighborhood offers classic turn-of-the century apartment buildings, the massive and heavily trafficked Avenue called Broadway, mom-and-pop stores and the famous Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts.

Long considered relaxed and artsy, and home to intellectuals, writers, musicians and actors. Now young professionals and their stroller-bound children make up a sizable part of the population.

Upper West Side residents kept their old buildings and renters now value the neighborhood's attractive real estate, row upon row of brownstones on wide, tree-lined side streets. In Upper West you’ll also find gourmet markets, upscale boutiques and many restaurants catering to cliques of young professionals.

The Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts, is an imposing group of six marble-and-glass buildings around a large plaza. The center is home to the world-class Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet and the New York Philharmonic, but is even worth seeing if you’re not catching a performance.
